Why the name Mangrove Report?

Just like the organisations we write about, mangroves are impressive problem solvers:

They act as natural barriers, reducing coastal erosion and protecting shorelines from swells and storms.

They store large amounts of carbon in biomass and soil.

They provide habitats and breeding grounds for fish, crustaceans, birds, and other wildlife.

They trap sediments and pollutants, improving water quality.

Our Mission:

1 | Connect our readers with organisations that are addressing urgent social and environmental problems.

2 | Inform our readers about these organisations and the problems they are addressing.

3 | Inspire our readers to take action. This could involve anything - donating, investing, applying for a job, or even starting an organisation of their own!

The Mangrove Report team:

We’re a collective of young students and recent graduates based in Ireland and the UK. Between us, we have interests or experience in a wide range of fields, including natural resources, renewable energy, medical care, food systems and more.
